Dang, Thanks for Still Reading Blogs
My name is Parker Hammon, I'm a Writer, Director, Producer, Teacher and sometimes Editor of both Video and Writing living in Detroit.

I've been writing and directing stuff for a little under a decade now. My specialty is in Comedy and I'd consider myself a Writer first and everything else second. I've amassed a decent library of stuff during my time in Detroit and it's finally time to put it all in one place with the hopes that one day, I'll be able to move out of a studio apartment and into a 1 bedroom apartment.

I started out doing stand up when I was 17, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before moving to Detroit when I was 21 to explore comedy opportunities that weren't exclusively in Hotel Bars. Since I've been in Detroit I've Directed Original Theatrical Productions, The Dream Train (sketch comedy), Women Who Drink (an original One Act Play written by stand ups Myles De Leeuw and Ken Witzgall), Toilet Time (really smart Sketch Comedy) and most recently Turboteen: Live and Reloading (an original live comedy production based on the cartoon of the same name) as well as several video sketches and a music video and some other stuff. I've produced a few live shows as well as an original pilot. This blog serves as a storage space for all my disparate projects.

I've built podcast networks, I've edited sports writing, I teach Sketch Comedy Writing and I'll be opening up a submissions page to anyone who wants to submit something they wrote, made or would be interested in pursuing for notes or just to chat. No charge, it's tough to find people to read, watch or listen to your stuff and sometimes an outside voice is necessary. If you think my many years of writing and directing and being around comedy would be helpful, please, don't hesitate to reach out.

I'll also sometimes use this as a space to write more traditional blog type stuff that doesn't really have a home. Sometimes I want to write about soccer or basketball or a good chicken marsala recipe and this is where that will go.
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy my stuff.
